Abstract

Technique is developed by which the Laplace transform of the transition matrix of a linear single-input single- output system can be written down straight from its differential equation. The method is equally applicable to all-pole and pole- zero systems and it bypasses the Mason's signal flow graph gain formula for the determination of the Laplace transform of the transition matrix. The application of the method is illustrated for linear second order system.
