Abstract

An innovative plasma technology is being developed, which is capable of cleaning Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) mirrors without the use of water. This novel technology also has additional benefits, which includes increasing the self-cleaning nature of the mirror surfaces and reducing surface soiling by modifying the surface energy of the collector mirrors. It is projected that this disruptive technology will save billions of litres of water per year, globally and will also increase the energy efficiency of the CSP power plants.
