Abstract

A total of 176 isolates of the genus Aspergillus were screened for their ability to produce ochratoxin A in yeast extract-sucrose broth and on moistened corn. Besides being produced by A. ochraceus and A. alliaceus, ochratoxin A was produced by one isolate of A. fumigatus and one of A. versicolor, species not previously reported to produce this mycotoxin.
