Traditions and innovations in lighting of libraries

Abstract

The libraries lighting systems development was shown with the changes of their functions when the new architectural directions appeared and the light role in the space formation was rethought. The main factors influencing the comfortable luminous environment creation-maximum natural light use, protection from insolation, color and texture of finishing materials-were considered on the examples of the well-known libraries. Special attention is paid to the Don state public library interior lighting theme in Rostov-on-Don.
