Abstract: In recent years, important advances have been identified in the study of the socio-territorial segregation processes in the region’s cities based on interpretative approaches, in which subjectivity and symbolism acquire importance in the understanding of this phenomenon. In this work we address the analysis and interpretation of the representations and practices of the inhabitants of a neighborhood built by social housing public policies in order to recognize the way in which they experience their neighborhood and the city (the symbolic burden of the place where they live, the unequal access to the urban space, the means and times of travel, etc.) as a process that enables them to grasp the position that they and the different social groups occupy in the social and urban space.
