ApoE mimetic peptide possesses the putative receptor binding domain 141-150 (LRKLRKRLLR) of apoE covalently linked to the class A amphipathic helical peptide 18A. It dramatically reduces plasma cholesterol in dyslipidemic mouse and rabbit models. Recycling of apoE mimetic peptide increases the duration of preβ-HDL formation leading to extended anti-inflammatory and atheroprotective properties. © Humana Press, a part of Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2010.
