Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects of benzodiazepines (BDZs) for panic disorder in adults, specifically: To determine the efficacy of BDZs in alleviating symptoms of panic disorder with or without agoraphobia in comparison to placebo; To review the acceptability of BDZs in panic disorder with or without agoraphobia in comparison with placebo; and To investigate the adverse effects of BDZs in panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, including the general prevalence of adverse effects, compared to placebo.
