An attempt to understand the twentieth century

Abstract

The article is an attempt to interpret the twentieth century. The interpretation is anchored between José Ortega y Gasset's characterization of the modern art of the early twentieth century and postmodernists' characterization of the late twentieth century. Developments in arts, religion, politics, economy, sports and science are treated from this perspective.
