Improving quality of life is the most important outcome of any occupational therapy intervention. In the end of life, the quality of the performance and the support in significant activities are fundamental. It is still necessary to develop new evidence on the subject and to increase the training of occupational therapists with respect to the ethical questions posed by the end of life and palliative care, also in the light of the different regulatory structures that exist in European countries.
