Abstract

Road accidents are a major reason for deaths. The number of accidents happening has increased significantly in the last decade. Causes of accidents are many but a drowsy driver is one of the foremost reason. 20% of the accidents are due to Drowsiness. Drowsiness of the driver can be constituted to many factors like lack of sleep, exhaustion due to long hours of driving, etc. It is necessary for the system to come in place for preventing such accidents from happening. In recent years due to advancement in technology, several devices and approaches have been developed for the same comprising systems that use computer vision, physiological measure, etc. In this paper, we have composed a novel method of detecting drowsy driver by combining the non-intrusive and intrusive method of IR Camera and EEG Headset.
