Abstract

Many psychiatric textbooks omit less common, yet important, clinical topics in the medical basis of psychiatry. This chapter covers four such additional areas: adjustment disorder, factitious disorder, illicit anabolic steroid abuse, and special psychiatric syndromes identified by eponyms or cultural ties.
