Abstract

This chapter will focus on the development of Asian quality assurance system in the glonacal era of higher education and while first analyzing the characteristics of quality assurance agencies. The major challenges faced by most quality assurance agencies, including internationalization, autonomy, and accountability will be discussed as well. One initiative, mutual recognition of quality assurance agencies’ decisions by APQN’s GIQAC project will be presented at the end of the chapter.
