Abstract

The study described was carried out to develop a rapid and accurate method for determining the chemical composition of clay materials and to develop a statistical technique using these data to estimate the most likely proportions of clay mineral components in the sample. A method of clay mineral sample preparation for electron microprobe analysis was developed.
