Abstract

The internet and world wide web have already become an integral part of our lives. Even if we attempt to ignore them, messages about this new medium constantly bombard us: ‘the URL is this’, ‘the web-site is that’. In the office, academic environment and even in our homes, many ofus could not carry out our daily tasks without it, but we all crave better usability The Web is constantly changing and evolving, with some content being lost while other content is added. This ongoing evolution gives us the opportunity to make the Internet something that is easy and simple to use, whilst retaining the tremendous ‘power’ that it provides us all with. At BT exact we have developed a methodology and toolset that has enabled us to work with our clients and customers to develop Internet services with high usability. This chapter describes our approach and methods.
