Abstract

Estimation is most commonly made using Ordinary (OK) or Simple (SK) Kriging, which are the variants of the basic linear regression techniques allowing estimation of a single regionalised variable in unsampled locations. Kriging technique imposes the following special constraints on the estimate: • It minimises an estimation error • It assures that mathematical expectation of the estimation error is equal to zero. These characteristics give advantage to kriging in comparison with other linear estimators.
