Abstract

Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Russian musical theatre producers have attempted to combine aspects of the Soviet system of state-owned theatres with Western-style strategies, primarily those developed on Broadway. Several notable companies produce musicals in Russia, including Moscow Operetta Theatre, Stage Entertainment Russia, and the Theatre of the Musical.
