Abstract

The aim of the study is to establish a method to evaluate the task-load on maintenance personnel for civil aviation activities. Based on the characteristics of civil aircraft maintenance work and DORATASK Model from ICAO, a maintenance task-load index (TLI) is derived to measure maintenance personnel task-load. With the assistance of the JACK human factor analysis software, the method solves the shortcomings such as poor portability, subjectivity, and strict laboratory conditions in previous task-load evaluation methods. The proposed method provides a basis and a reference point for human resource allocation and occupational health damage prevention in civil aviation maintenance work.
