Efficient Programming

Abstract

The article reports that the U.S. Department of Energy is providing about 300 million dollar in economic stimulus funds to help consumers purchase new Energy Star-qualified home appliances. Energy Secretary Steven Chu said that the rebate program will stimulate the economy while reducing energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions. The Energy Department is making the funds available to states, and each state has to submit a plan specifying which appliance will be included in their program.
