Abstract
The ancient plan of Tours is difficult to identify, having been largely obliterated in World War Two. Analysis of plot distribution from aerial photography and documentary evidence, by avoiding misleading modern roads, reveals the former grid pattern. The position of the town walls, 'Castrum', amphitheatre and abbey are also discussed. -R.Dowse
