This paper aims to prepare a new database for industrial investment, with records contracts at the Sao Paulo Trade Board between 1911 and 1920, and identify if there was a structural break in industrial investment during the 1910s, period of the World War I, and the main economic variables that explain the industrial investment. The results indicate that the industrial investment was positively related to exports, machine imports and bank credit in lagged period.
