Abstract

Polymer electronics is an emerging technology that focuses on the development of electronic devices incorporating electrically conductive and semiconductive organic materials, especially organic polymers. It offers the prospect of an advanced electronics platform using new materials, processes and electronic devices. Polymer conductors and semiconductors open up propects for microelectronic systems that go beyond the scope of conventional electronics based on silicon as the semiconductor. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
