Abstract

Gluteal augmentation has been one of the hottest topics in plastic surgery in the last 5 years. There is not one specific technique that can be standardized for all patients who present with gluteal deformities. Gluteal augmentation with implant or with fat grafting has advantages and disadvantages. It is indicated for the majority of the cases and is reported to have good outcomes, especially when associated with other techniques like liposuction of periphery of the buttocks. In this chapter, the author shows his experience with composite gluteal augmentation, combining implant and fat grafting for gluteal augmentation to achieve consistent good projection, good waist-to-hip ratio, and a harmonious gluteal region.
