Edutainment lies at the intersection of games and learning and includes the benefits of both. To increase students' interest in mathematics and improve their problem-solving abilities, we have designed and implemented a geometric origami edutainment application. This application is based on three heuristic axioms and simple data structures. Students can create any angle or polygon by folding/unfolding the 2D paper displayed on the screen of the Android based system. This application has the benefit of an intuitive interface, and requires a higher level of thinking from the students than that required by traditional origami. We created the application to entertain the students, but also to assist in improving their mathematical problem-solving abilities. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht(Outside the USA).
