Abstract

A design of remote controller based on embedded platform is proposed, which adopts two patents related to machine vision. This remote controller not only has learning and wireless communication functions, but also has spatial self-orientation function. The scheme is implemented from the theory of two cameras' machine vision. Two cameras mounted on the controller can obtain the space coordinates of any corresponding point. When the remote controller is moved, and some known stationary points' picture coordinates are changed, so we can evaluate the direction and velocity of handheld remote controller. In this way it can be used as ideal baton. It not only has abundant technical contents, but also has a good market prospects. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
