Abstract

In Chaps. 3 and 4 we have considered Lyapunov-based stability and performance analysis. In this chapter we study design problems. Section 5.1 below gives an idea of a classical predictor-based design and a Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) for LTI systems. The infinite horizon LQR design is confined to known and constant system matrices and delays. The next sections of the chapter present robust control via LMIs that leads to efficient design algorithms for linear uncertain systems with constant or time-varying (either known or unknown) intput/output/state delays.
