Abstract

Computer Aided Surgery (CAS) system for stereotactic neurosurgery has been developed by means of robotics and software technology. In this paper, we describe design concepts and features of our system which consists of a needle insertion manipulator, a navigation system and a software system for visualization, surgical planning and manipulator control. And a phantom study for the estimation of manipulator control accuracy and a clinical application of the navigation system are also reported.
