The article offers information on the report on identifying risk behaviors for Group A Streptococcus infections among persons who inject drugs and persons experiencing homelessness in New Mexico. Topics discussed include the increasing risk factor for invasive GAS infection in the U.S.; discussions on the Interviewing the identified patients using standardized questionnaire focusing on known risk factors; and the findings on use of drugs as the cause of increased number of invasive GAS cases.
