Abstract

The research was aimed at conceptualizing and empirically testing a path to highlight the interrelationships of conflict types and innovative work behavior. A random sample of 320 managers of telecommunication sector of Pakistan was selected for the study. The conceptual model was empirically tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings reveal positive and significant impact of task conflict on innovative work behavior. Further, it shows the significant positive impact of innovative work behavior on process conflict. There is also a significant and positive impact of process conflict on relationship conflict. This study presents a role model for the strategic managers and practitioners as a guideline to stimulate innovative work behavior through better conflict management. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.
