Users desperately seeking appropriate process safety systems aren't getting enough help from unspecific standards and ideal-world certifications and here's how to gain some useful safety capabilities in an eternally buyer-beware world. There are some basic procedures that all must follow to implement it and the versions of this laundry list are based on OSHA's 1910.119 process safety management (PSM) of highly hazardous chemicals regulations which tells users to perform a process hazard analysis (PHA). The three steps to be followed are: risk analysis of the process application and facility, users need to look at safety measures in place and users must calculate the failure on demand once appropriate equipment is selected.
