Plants have adapted various mechanisms to overcome the harmful effects of environmental stresses. These mechanisms have been widely studied in Arabidopsis thaliana. Stress signal transduction pathways in plants act individually or interact with each other in adapting plants to various stresses. Plants have stress-responsive genes that are induced by multiple stresses, and this suggests that there is cross talk between different pathways. Some of these pathways are ABA dependent, while others are not. Here we briefly focus on cross talk between cold stress and drought and salt and heat.
