ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ DOĞAL AFET OKURYAZARLIK DÜZEYLERİNİN ÇEŞİTLİ DEĞİŞKENLERE GÖRE İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı, sosyal bilgiler, fen bilgisi ve sınıf öğretmenliği 4. sınıf öğretmen adaylarının doğal afet okuryazarlık düzeylerini belirlemek ve çeşitli değişkenlerin doğal afet okuryazarlığı üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Tarama modelindeki araştırmada veriler 8 üniversitedeki 1218 öğretmen adayından ‘Doğal Afet Okuryazarlığı Anketi’ ile toplanmıştır. Sonuçlara göre öğretmen adaylarının doğal afet bilgileri ve davranışları orta, duyuşsal eğilimleri kısmen yüksek, genel doğal afet okuryazarlıkları ise kısmen yüksek düzeydedir. Cinsiyet, yerleşim birimi, baba eğitim ve aile gelir durumu öğretmen adaylarının doğal afet okuryazarlıkları üzerinde anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturmaz iken, eğitim görülen bölüm, üniversite, akademik ortalama ve anne eğitim durumu anlamlı fark oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonunda elde edilen bulgulara bağlı olarak program, müfredat, uygulayıcı ve araştırmacı odaklı bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.The purpose of this study is to determine the natural disaster literacy levels of pre-service teachers of social studies, primary-school and science in the 4th grade and to demonstrate the effects of the several variables on the natural disaster literacy. In the survey model, data were collected from 1218 pre-service teachers from 8 universities by ‘Natural Disaster Literacy Survey’. According to the [1]findings, the natural disaster knowledge and behaviours of pre-service teachers are at a moderate level, and their affective tendencies towards natural disasters are partially high. The overall natural disaster literacy rate is relatively high. While gender, settlement, father education and family monthly income status do not make a significant difference, the department, university, grade point average and mother education status cause a significant difference on the natural disaster literacy of pre-service teachers. At the end of the study, some suggestions based on the findings were made focusing on the curriculum, the practitioners and the researchers.
