Abstract

Mediastinal masses in children represent a wide variety of congenital and neoplastic lesions that can present interesting diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. However, despite the heterogenous make-up of this group of lesions, an accurate pre-operative diagnosis can usually be established on the basis of the location of the mass within the mediastinum and age of the child at diagnosis. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
