Abstract

Glycoproteomics, the global analysis of glycoproteins, is a subfi eld of proteomics with high biological and clinical relevance. Glycoproteomics integrates knowledge and techniques drawing from glycotechnology, separation science, mass spectrometry, and bioinformatics to support systematic identifi cation and quantifi cation of glycoproteins in a complex biological sample. In this chapter, we describe a shotgun proteomicsbased glycoproteomics platform that provides precise mapping of protein N-glycosylation sites and quantitative assessment of glycosylation site occupancy on a global scale.
