Paving the way towards the control of wireless telecommunication networks

Abstract

The objective of this chapter is to show how control-based methodologies can be fruitfully used for the development of resource management procedures in communication networks. In particular, we introduce the convergence layer technology independent approach and, within this approach, we describe a model-based design procedure for resource management algorithms. To validate the technology independent approach, the design procedure is then adopted to develop resource management algorithms on different network technologies. © 2008 Springer-Verlag.
