Abstract

The teaching of architecture must be adapted to the changes occurring in society and which represent new ways of professional practice. Architects must be able to respond to a new range of professional skills offered by the market. The current training system, with its structure of degree and masters, allows such adaptation. The analysis of the white book of the official title of architecture degree (ANECA, 2005) and the relationship between the competences acquired in training and those required in professional practice, offers a new structure of generic professional profiles that will allow the academia to rethink the training degree and master contains in order to facilitate the access to the current and future professional scenarios.
