This chapter is a transcription of the general discussion held in the afternoon on Sunday, 6 May 2012, at the conclusion of the workshop on ‘Grete Hermann: Between Physics and Philosophy’ at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. The workshop was dedicated to the figure and work of the German mathematician, philosopher and educator Grete Hermann (1901–1984), in particular her remarkable work on the foundations of quantum mechanics in the 1930s. The initial transcription was made by Thomas P. Scott and edited by Guido Bacciagaluppi and Elise Crull.
