HUKUM PENENTUAN ARAH KIBLAT PERSPEKTIF MADZHAB SYAFI’I DAN ASTRONOMIS

Abstract

Atthe end of 2009 and first of 2010, Muslims are surprised by research said that there are 230.000 of 800.000 mosques in Indonesia did not have the right direction of Kiblah. Determining the direction of Kiblah is considered as something difficult for most people until today. In this research, the writer will observe what the law of determining the direction of Kiblah looked from Fiqh in Madzhab Syafi’i and astronomic? The purpose of the studyis to know the opinion of madzhab Syafi’iin deciding the direction of Kiblah and Astronomic. This research is qualitative research with library research that is more concerned to the text observation by studying library materials like books, Islamic books, journal and other sources that is related to the research topic, which then exploresby historical-astronomy approach. In the other hand, the writer can get data and information sources by interviewing astronomic and Falak expert. The result of the research shows that determine the direction of kiblah in the perspective of four madzhab Syafi’i and astronomic have two effects. First madzhab Syafi’i agreesthat someone who can see Ka’bahmust face the building of Ka’bah(ain-al-Ka’bah) and someone who cannot see Ka’bah. Second, in the perspective of astronomy, there is a different opinion between astronomic and Falak expert related to tolerance in determining the direction of kiblah.
