Abstract

Ranunculus flabellaris Raf., the Yellow Water-Crowfoot, is a heterophyllous semi-aquatic dicotyledonous plant, showing striking morphological and anatomical differences between terrestrial leaves and those formed underwater. After plants are submerged in a 25 μM solution of abscisic acid, leaves are produced at a normal rate but they exhibit many of the characteristics of terrestrial leaves. © 1985 Annals of Botany Company.
