“Infonomics” is a name for a proposed new discipline for valuing information as a corporate asset. The term was coined by Doug Laney, who is now at Gartner Group (Laney 2012). People, who have worked with the information asset in many companies, e.g. as an information management consultant, have seen the degree of impact the information resource has on business operations.
