This chapter provides a brief overview of recommendations for the initial screening of refugees newly arrived in the United States. These recommendations are based on guidelines published by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and include a general outline on performing a history and physical examination and obtaining relevant laboratory tests.
