Abstract

This paper presents a practical design and implementation of multi-storey hospital healthcare Monitoring system using ZigBee wireless sensor network. The system includes several medical monitoring nodes can be used to measure some physiological parameters and then sends the data to monitoring center via ZigBee wireless sensor network and saves results to database and displays to a website. A mesh topology wireless sensor network was designed and implemented in trial multi-storey building for this hospital monitoring application. Three vital sign parameters are chosen to monitor a patient are body temperature, heartbeat and peripheral capillary oxygen saturation (SPO2). A fall detection device using accelerometer sensor MPU-6050 is also designed and implemented in this system.
