Abstract

In our compilation we have a look at what is meant by the notion 'Industry 4.0' and how we can place it in the history of technical progress. The article reviews the general characteristics of Industry 4.0 and it also mentions the expected benefits of its introduction, as well as the challenges and risks entailed by it. We present how the technical-technological elements of Industry 4.0 appear in robotisation of welding, in addition, we examine the Hungarian experiments concerning this.
