Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) Communication are two technologies that become enormously developed in last decades. In the linear perspective of energy saving, the Solar Smart Grid (SSG) is an excellent solution to optimize the energy consumption. This paper demonstrates a design of Smart Solar Power Management (SSPM) System using IoT. The proposed system integrates real time monitoring of data and control the system with precision. This paper consists of three major sections: Real time solar power system monitoring and controlling; Solar home power system engineering database collection and management; system fault analysis. SSPM System is based on a mixture of factors according to solar grid management necessities and operation rules. Sophisticated functions of Smart Solar Power Management System can also be varied via wireless M2 M Communication. The main objective of the system to overcome the field maintenance, system troubleshooting and to provide mean time to repair in existing Solar Home Power Systems. Any device from anywhere using smart phones via Internet can control the proposed SSPM system. The prototype of the system is tested and implemented in several customer’s places to analyze implementation issues and challenges.
