Abstract

The aim of this research was to build a prototype application which uses state-ofthe- art web-mapping and mobile technologies in order to connect people’s daily tasks with geography and therefore serving them with a new perspective on task planning. This was achieved by implementing a spatial calendar, hence a scheduling application which not only stores the temporal information about each event, but also a spatial component. The major purpose was to explore the potential functionalities geo-temporal data could provide to improve task management. The application was field tested by users who responded positively, but simultaneously highlighted issues that an application like this would need to tackle, in order to be successful.
