Abstract

Locking plates are important new implants in fracture care on account of their unique capacity for preserving periosteal blood supply while maintaining fracture fixation even in osteoporotic bone. However, while locking plates have become quite popular in a relatively short period, the features and benefits of this implant are yet to be fully appreciated by large sections of orthopedic surgeons. Divided into two sections, this book presents an updated and systematically organized exposition of locking plates. The text is suitably illustrated by a large number of line diagrams.
