Abstract

As for P2PDDB system, the operation of data on local nodes is fully transparent. It means that users can operate the local database just like the centralized database without needing to care data fragment and node location. But it does not indicate we can operate all global data from just one node. The operation of data on other nodes must be authorized. Therefore, under the premise of not considering the heterogeneous conversion transparency, P2PDDB system data operation is pre-transparent. In general, when developing a new system, either users or developers prefer homogeneous database management system, rather than that of heterogeneous which is for special needs. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
