Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of how to create legally binding software agreements between web services or agents operating within the framework of the semantic web. From an examination of the legal requirements on such a system, a set of formal technical requirements is derived. This then leads to an outline system architecture based on experience in developing preference rule based systems for automated data transfer events. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.
