Abstract

The minimally invasive technique using autologous fat transplantation has become a standard procedure in facial rejuvenation. It is simple, inexpensive, permanent, and effective. Injectable fillers, such as collagen and hyaluronic acid, are only temporary and, therefore, have minimal indication. The transfer of fat to the face, where vascularity is excellent, has an excellent chance for fat survival. The only relative drawback has been the resorption of some of the fat graft. With proper technique, approximately 30–70% of the fat is retained.
