This chapter describes in detail the surgical steps involved in replantation of amputated digit(s). Details of managing the amputated part and amputation stump are discussed. Tissue edges of the amputated part are freshened, and nonviable tissue debrided, bony open reduction and internal fixation are performed followed by arterial/venous anastomosis and epineurial repair of the nerves. Indications, preoperative markings, surgical steps, postoperative care, operative dictation, and suggested readings are included.
