Abstract

A biography of physician-poet John Keats is presented. He was born in 1795 and pursued a medical career at Guy's Hospital, where he met a lifelong friend, Joseph Severn. Keats requested that no name be placed on his tomb in the Protestant Cemetery in Rome, Italy, only a line describing his life as a writer. It also presents the author's personal experience of traveling to Italy that allowed him to visit the small apartment in Rome where Keats spent his grave and the Protestant Cemetery.
